Kapuso actress Eugene Domingo took the time out of her day to show appreciation for fellow actress Dolly De Leon who recently grazed the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival and flaunted her remarkable acting skills in her film, The Triangle of Sadness.

Written and directed by Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund, the film received a 7-minute standing ovation during its premiere and was awarded the Palme d'Or for Best Picture during the said festival.

In her Instagram post, Eugene shares a photo of Dolly and captions, “And by the way, mga kababayan- for some wonderful news… This FILIPINA is thespian/actor DOLLY DE LEON who has been acting around for decades, and for our information- she gave quite an oscar worthy performance for her character ABIGAIL, in the film The Triangle of Sadness by Swedish writer-director Ruben Östlund. The film won the Palme d'Or and what's more thrilling than that - is that Dolly definitely rocked the festival!”

Eugene was in awe of the career Dolly has and is happy that she's finally receiving the recognition she deserves. She further shares, “Amiga, I am just one of your many sisters and brothers in the theater [most especially in dulaang UP], who is emotionally touched by your remarkable journey. Thank you for this awesomeness! Mabuhay ka!”

Dolly also commented on Eugene's post and said, “What an absolutely sweet gesture, amiga mia. Thank you so much. I feel the love from all of you!! Hopefully it will come out by the end of the year for all of us pinoys to watch! See you at the cinema, mi amor.”

After having worked together in various films and theater shows, Eugene and Dolly's friendship has indeed blossomed into a beautiful and uplifting one.
