WinWyn Marquez is a mean girl on-screen and an aspiring beauty queen off-screen

Showbiz royalty WinWyn Marquez has already conquered the dance floor. The morena beauty is now off to greater heights as she stars in the upcoming GMA series, Dormitoryo and pursues her dream of becoming a beauty queen.

WinWyn will be starring alongside Lauren Young, Enzo Pineda, Joyce Ching and many more in Dormitoryo. What side of her will the viewers be seeing?

“I’m Myca Benitez in the series. Ako ‘yung popular girl talaga at pinakakilala sa school, but then takot sila sa akin magalit kasi ‘pag ginalit nila ako, it will be their end,” she replied.

The slim and statuesque actress also revealed that someone will disappear in the story, and that characters whereabouts will be very crucial in the plot.

She stated, “The story basically will revolve around that. Ano ang mangyayari sa nawala. Namatay ba? Ghost ba? Anong meron sa school? Anong gagawin ni Lauren? Something like that. Basta ako ‘yung manggugulo sa story.”

Since the series has a somewhat supernatural element, we asked the Kapuso actress if she has had any experiences with the paranormal.

WinWyn answered, “Meron din, hindi naman ghost, pero may naririnig lang. Siguro praning lang talaga ako or something, pero ‘yun yung challenge sa akin sa show kasi takot ako sa ganun. So yeah, it’s exciting.”

Dormitorio will be showcasing a different kind of teen drama because of its edgy concept. Does she think that the teen audience is ready for something like this?

“Ako, I’m confident na tatanggapin siya ng mga tao kasi ngayon, a lot of people are really open-minded. The shows right now are ‘yung mga hindi ineexpect, like My Husband’s Lover. This one, I’m sure they’re gonna like it, lalo na ‘yung mga bata,” she said.

Now that WinWyn’s star is rising, does she also have plans to join a beauty pageant, since she has the looks, brains and height for it?

WinWyn had this to say: “Kasi actually, dream ko ‘yan bata pa lang ako. I really want to join. The fact lang na makasali ako, I feel like a winner already, so ‘pag nanalo ako, parang bonus na lang ‘yun or cloud nine na ako ‘nun. Pero, not now or anytime soon.”

She added, “Nandito [sa acting] ‘yung opportunity na binibigay sa akin ng GMA. May years pa naman ako. Maybe next year or the year after next. Who knows?”
