By Bianca Geli

TV host and actress Agot Isidro has a message for actress Ella Cruz after her tweet "history is like chismis" went viral.

She fired back at Ella Cruz's viral tweet saying "history is like chismis."

Agot tweeted, "Ella, I love you and you're the sweetest. (Serious ako. She really is). Next time, pwede tayong sumagot ng "No comment."

She continued, "Again, mahal kita."

Agot was pertaining to Ella's now deleted tweet, where she compared history to gossip, saying "hindi natin alam what is the real history. History is like tsismis. It is filtered and dagdag na rin, so hindi natin alam what is the real history. Naro'n na yung idea, pero may mga bias talaga. As long as we are here at may kanya-kanyang opinion, I respect everyone's opinion."

She continued, “Kasi struggling na, e, last three days! Kahit naman sila struggling right now, 'di ba? Paano kaya iyon na there so much pressure on their side during those times?”

Filipino historian Ambeth Ocampo posted a statement alluding to history as a fact and not an opinion..

“Don't confuse History and chismis. History may have bias but it is based on fact and opinion. Real History is about Truth not lies, not fiction,” he wrote on social media.

Likewise, Mona Magno-Veluz, TikTok's favorite history geek called Mighty Magulang, also took to social media to differentiate history from hearsay.

On a shared post from The Daily Show, she wrote, "History is NOT chismis. History is NOT opinion. Learn the difference. Umayos nga kayo. #kasaysayan."

TV host Gretchen Ho retweeted Ella's statement and also wrote "History=Facts, Tsimis=Opinion."

Ella is part of the movie titled Maid in Malacañang, where she will play the role Irene Marcos, one of the daughters former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and Imelda Marcos.
