Maricel Laxa joins the cast of the historical epic '1521.'
After the press conference for the international film 1521: The Battle of Mactan, the names of the actors who will be playing the lead roles in the upcoming film were finally revealed.
It was first announced that the shooting will be done in Puerto Princesa City and Taytay, Palawan, and currently, they are taping it.
The cast members include Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo, American director and actor Michael Copon, Hector David Jr., Maricel Laxa, and well-known Hollywood actor Danny Trejo.
As they started shooting some scenes, Maricel Laxa couldn't help but observe Danny Trejo's world-class acting skills.
Actress Maricel Laxa recently took to Instagram and shared how honored she is to be one of Trejo's co-stars.
She shared, “Such an honor to work with Señor @officialdannytrejo. His secret to success in Hollywood: When the opportunity comes, Open your door. He considers himself first and foremost an actor and not a movie star. It keeps his feet on the ground. When people start to see themselves as movie stars, they lose it and it gets to them. It is important to stay humble and get the work done and better without complaining!”
Laxa added, “What I have observed - at 78, he prioritizes working out by going to the gym and running the hills by our hotel! He eats only when hungry and makes sure he is well rested for another day of work. He keeps a positive attitude and is gracious with his time and attention. What excites him the most is what he can do to serve others. No wonder everybody in Hollywood wants to work with him!”
The actress ended her post with a question, “What Danny Trejo film have you seen?”
Danny Trejo is a popular American actor who starred in films including Desperado, Heat, and the From Dusk Till Dawn film series.
He is set to play Ferdinand Magellan in the historical epic film.
1521: The Battle of Mactan is being produced by filmmaker Francis B. Lara Ho.
