Marian Rivera, Kapuso artists light up City of Smiles in Masskara Festival 2013


The much  awaited event of Bacolod City—the world-famous Masskara Festival 2013—becomes all the more vibrant and colorful as GMA Network sends some of its artists to participate in the city’s annual masquerade party bannered by no less than Kapuso primetime queen Marian Rivera this weekend.

Following her record-breaking mall shows in Iloilo, Cebu, and Dumaguete, Marian makes her fourth visit to the Visayas region today, October 18, to mingle with her supporters from the City of Smiles via a Kapuso Fans’ Day at SM City Bacolod at 4 p.m. Joining her on stage is celebrity stand-up comedian Boobay, who will be coming from a scheduled Kapuso Barangayan at Barangay 14 at 10 a.m.

“Natutuwa ako dahil mabibisita kong muli ang Bacolod, ang lugar na kilalang-kilala sa pagiging likas at natural na masayahin ng mga tao. Para kasi sa akin, malaking bagay talaga ang pagngiti dahil sa pamamagitan nito naipapasa natin ang good vibes sa iba,” shares Marian.

At 8 p.m. on the same day, bad boy ng dance floor Mark Herras together with Rochelle Pangilinan and Andrea Torres showcase their dancing skills at the Kapuso Electric Dansskara Finals and Charter Day Countdown at the Bacolod City Government Center.

The next day, October 19, Rhian Ramos leads the cast of GMA Network’s original and groundbreaking series Genesis in the Charter Day parade. She will be joined by co-actors TJ Trinidad and Betong Sumaya in the Kapuso float that will cruise along the main streets of the city down to the Bacolod Public Plaza starting at 1 p.m.

A Kapuso Mall Show featuring the Genesis cast plus sought-after loveteam Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes comes next at 4 p.m. at the Robinson’s Bacolod, Fountain Area.

It will then be followed by another mall show at Robinson’s Bacolod, Citywalk at 7 p.m. bannered by the cast of top-rating afternoon program Pyra Babaeng Apoy—Thea Tolentino, Jeric Gonzales, Polo Ravales, and Angelu de Leon—together with the country’s Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma.

On Sunday, October 20, GMA Bacolod’s News and Public Affairs offers a special live coverage of the Masskara Street Dancing that will take place at the Bacolod Public Plaza from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The coverage will air on the same day from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. via GMA TV Bacolod.
