K-pop girl group Red Velvet's lead vocalist and main dancer Seulgi is finally making her highly-anticipated solo debut this October!

In a news report posted on September 6 by Mydaily, it was revealed that the Korean singer and dancer will be releasing her solo album next month. According to Soompi, a representative from SM Entertainment, the agency handling Red Velvet, confirmed the report and shared, “Seulgi is preparing for her first solo album with the aim of an October release. Please show lots of interest.”

More details about the upcoming album are yet to be announced by Red Velvet and SM Entertainment but fans are expecting it to be bomb as it is Seulgi. Despite only making her solo debut now, Seulgi has embarked on numerous activities over the years that prove she's got talent and is passionate about the craft.

In February 2019, Seulgi released her solo song “Always” which was part of the official soundtrack of the Korean drama series The Crowned Clown. Following this, in July 2020, she and fellow Red Velvet member Irene formed their own sub-unit and released their mini-album Monster.

In 2022, SM Entertainment formed the South Korean supergroup GOT the beat which comprises the powerhouse of the multinational entertainment agency. Members include BoA, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Aespa's Karina and Winter, and of course, Red Velvet's Wendy and Seulgi.
