Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo, John Lloyd Cruz, Paolo Contis, other Kapuso artists, nominated for the 45th Gawad Urian awards
Dingdong Dantes is one of the Kapuso artists nominated for the prestigious Gawad Urian awards. Other Kapuso artists included in the awards were Dennis Trillo, Paolo Contis, and Eugene Domingo among others.
Dingdong was nominated for Pinaka Mahusay na Aktor or the Best Actor award for his performance in A Hard Day. Fellow nominees include Paolo Contis for his film A Faraway Island, John Lloyd Cruz for his film Ang History ni Ha, and Francis Magundayao for Tenement, 66, among others.
Meanwhile, Dennis Trillo was nominated for Pinaka mahusay na Pumapangalawang Aktor or the Best Supporting Actor award for his film, On the Job: The Missing 8. He is joined by Dante Rivero for the same film, Ronnie Lazaro for his movie Gensan Punch, and Sandino Martin for his film Walang Kasarian ang Digmaang Bayan.
Eugene Domingo also earned a nomination for Pinaka mahusay na Pumapangalawang Aktres or Best Supporting Actress award for her film Big Night! Other nominees include Shella Mae Romualdo for her film Arisaka, Mae Paner for Ang History ni Ha, and Dolly de Leon for Ang History ni Ha, among others.
Pinangaralan din ng Natatanging Gawad Urian si Roque “Roxlee” Federizon Lee for his work as an animator, filmmaker, cartoonist, and painter. He is best known for his comic strip Cesar Asar, which he wrote together with his brother, Monlee.

The Gawad Urian award is one of the most prestigious award-giving bodies known for giving recognition to the works of independent production companies. It was also the first award-giving body to include digital movies in the competition in 2006 where its nominees got overflowing awards that other award-giving bodies started to include digital films in their lineup as well.
