Jin, the vocalist of the global group BTS, is officially releasing his first solo single, “The Astronaut,” on October 28.

"Since it's a song made with so much love toward the fans, we hope 'The Astronaut' can be a gift to all of you,” the announcement posted on Weverse read.

A 2-and-a-half-minute long logo trailer was dropped to officially tease Jin's new track, a few days after he announced he was releasing his solo project next.

The cinematic trailer featured an astronaut navigating through space, where he encountered the moon, a satellite, and even a jumping white dog.

The trailer ended with the astronaut being engulfed by a flash of purple light before showing the track's title.

The group's record label, BigHit Music, also released the calendar for promotion of “The Astronaut.”

Concept photos will be revealed on October 24, 25, and 26, while the official teaser of the music video (MV) will be released on October 27.

The official MV of “The Astronaut” drops on October 28 at 1 p.m. KST (12 p.m. in Manila), while a lyric video is scheduled for an October 31 release.

BigHit on Monday confirmed that the members of BTS will be fulfilling their mandatory military service, starting with Jin after his solo release.

“Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October,” a part of the label's statement read.

Jin's solo songs in BTS's albums include, “Moon,” “Epiphany,” and “Awake.”

He also sung “Yours,” the OST of Korean drama Jirisan and “It's Definitely You” for HWARANG, with fellow vocalist, V.
