After Thai businesswoman Anne Jakrajutatip bought the Miss Universe competition through JKN Global for $210 million, she reportedly also hopes Thailand will be the host every three to four years.

Jakapong shared in a statement that the acquisition is an opportunity to "evolve the brand."

"I hope that this will serve as soft power for Thailand, and bring more tourists to our country," she said in a press statement.

She also thanked everyone who has shown support for Miss Universe's transition, as seen on her verified Facebook account Anne Jakrajutatip.

"Thank you for the great feedback from everyone of you after the official announcement, The Evolution of the Universe, today. ❤️ I LOVE YOU!!!"

"We seek not only to continue its legacy of providing a platform to passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and traditions, but also to evolve the brand for the next generation," she said in a statement.

Anne is a Thai celebrity media tycoon and transgender rights advocate. Her purchase of the Miss Universe Organization marks the first time the beauty pageant will be owned by a woman.

She is also the CEO and largest shareholder of JKN Global Group Pcl, formerly JKN Global Media Public Company Limited, is a Thailand-based company, engaged in distribution of global and local contents of the movies, TV series, and documentaries.

JKN also produces its own shows and distributes content in Thailand from abroad.

The majority of Miss Universe's 70-year history has been owned by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

In 2019, Jakapong hit local headlines after photos of her with former model-actor Clint Bondad circulated online.

The two have clarified that they have been good friends and have no romantic relationship.
