Glaiza de Castro teases new project in Canada

By Kristian Eric Javier

Glaiza de Castro is getting back into the big screen as she prepares to shoot her newest movie in Canada.

On November 10, Glaiza posted a picture on her Instagram announcing that they have started filming for the new movie. She even voiced her concern that the movie would not push through because of the pandemic.

“After two years, we are finally able to start! I honestly thought this project is not going to push through because of covid restrictions,” she said.

The Running Man Ph actress added that there will be “exciting times ahead” while filming, adding that being able to go back to filming the movie now is “perfect timing.”

Meanwhile, GMA Pinoy TV, the international channel of GMA Network, also gave a sneak peek of the behind-the-scenes moments from the movie, titled Kahel. However, no other details as to the genre and co-stars have been revealed.

In a separate Instagram post, Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the talent agency under GMA Network, posted a short video of Glaiza at a script reading. They also mentioned that the movie will be shot in Ontario, Canada.

“This movie will surely be another hit to add to Glaiza's acclaimed filmography,” they said.

This will be one of the times that Glaiza went abroad to shoot for a project. Recently, she and other stars of the Running Man Philippines went to Korea to shoot. In an interview, she mentioned that Korea was one of her favorite countries and expressed her excitement about doing the project.

Last September, they finally finished shooting the series and she was finally reunited with her husband, David Rainey, after a month of being away together because of the filming.

This will be Glaiza's latest film after Midnight In A Perfect World in 2021. However, aside from Running Man Philippines, Glaiza has appeared in a variety of series including her last role in First Lady, Prima Donnas, and Encantadia.
