Reg Rubio and Gloc-9

Take a look at how Gloc-9 and Reg Rubio of Greyhoundz got their creative juices going during the pandemic.

There's no denying that the entertainment industry was one of the hardest to be affected when the pandemic started two years ago. Filming was halted and no one was allowed to perform in restaurants or bars or in concerts.

While most artists had their creative outlet taken from them, Gloc-9 and Reg Rubio of Greyhoundz reveal how they channeled their creativity during the pandemic.

Gloc-9 and Greyhoundz are set to appear in a “Rock for Charity” concert on December 9 and in a pocket interview, they revealed how they handled the pandemic in their own creative way.

Reg admitted that he was lost at first, saying that for the first time in 23 years, he was unable to use the skillset he studied and loved, but that he was able to find a way to channel it somehow.

“Hindi nawala yung pagiging hopeful ko na once the pandemic is over, we'll get back to it, we'll write songs again and we'll perform again,” he added.

Gloc-9, meanwhile, said that he studied how to record his own vocals during the pandemic, admitting that he did not try to arrange music because he's not good at it.

“Yun lang, at least mai-record ko yung sarili ko, yung aking vocals, siguro magiging mas mabilis gumawa ng kanta,” he added.

The rap icon also said that he focused on his YouTube channel when the pandemic started, writing new songs and posting new content.

“May mga kantang talagang natitisod ko na 'Uy! Ok to a.' Wala kasing mali sa YouTube e, pwede kang gumawa ng mga vendo machine songs, so may mga ganun akong content sa YouTube ko,” he added.

Gloc-9 said that with any obstacle or challenge, such as the pandemic, you can help yourself improve.

“Ang pako, pag pinukpok mo, siguradong lulubog yan. I think yun lang naman ang lesson natin. Imposibleng hindi ka gagaling dahil pag hindi ka gumaling, tapos na ang laban,” he added.
