'Maria Clara At Ibarra' received a nomination for the Most Outstanding Teleserye award while its lead stars, Barbie Forteza, Julie Anne San Jose and Dennis Trillo were also nominated.
Kapuso hit series Maria Clara at Ibarra shows how fans have truly embraced the series as it received several nominations at the 5th Gawad Lasallianeta.
The Gawad Lasallianeta is an award-giving body that recognizes the most outstanding media communicators in the Philippines. They are recognized for being “the most effective and most influential communicators and best role models to the whole Lasallian community.”
Winners are recognized by the whole De La Salle Araneta University in an online survey among the staff, faculty, and students.
Maria Clara At Ibarra received a nomination for the Most Outstanding Teleserye award together with other Kapuso shows like Lolong, Start-Up Ph, Abot Kamay na Pangarap, and First Lady.
Meanwhile, series lead Dennis Trillo, who plays Crisostomo Ibarra, was nominated for the Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series award. He will be battling it out with Alden Richards and Ruru Madrid, both of which star in the other nominated shows for teleseryes.
The series leading ladies Julie Anne San Jose (Maria Clara), Andrea Torres (Sisa) and Barbie Forteza (Klay) will be battling it out with Start-Up Ph lead Bea Alonzo for the Most Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series award.
The hit fantasy-portal series truly is making its presence known as even Juancho Trivino, who plays Padre Salvi, recently received a nomination for his portrayal of his first villain role in the 3rd Annual TAG Awards Chicago.
Maria Clara at Ibarra tells the story of Klay, and how she was transported into the novel 'Noli Me Tangere' written by Jose Rizal. It follows her adventures inside the novel as she tries to help the characters while trying to find her way home.
In a Facebook post, Gawad Lasallianeta said that they'll be posting the details regarding the online voting process. They added that voting by the Lasallian community would start next week.
“To all our nominees, you are all excellent communicators in your own fields! The best of luck to all of you. The Lasallian community and the whole country look up to all of you,” they added, ending their post.
