'Maria Clara at Ibarra,' other Kapuso shows win awards at 5th Gawad Lasallianeta

Several Kapuso shows won awards at the 5th Gawad Lasallianeta, including the hit fantasy-portal series Maria Clara at Ibarra.

On January 6, Gawad Lasallianeta announced the winners for the different categories, recognized for being the most outstanding media communicators in the Philippines. Winners were chosen based on being “the most effective and most influential communicators and best role models to the whole Lasallian community.”

The winners are chosen by the whole De La Salle Araneta University faculty, staff, and students through voting on an online survey.

Maria Clara at Ibarra won as the Most Outstanding Teleserye against fellow Kapuso shows Lolong and Start-Up Ph.

Juancho Trivino, who plays Padre Salvi, accepted the award for Most Oustanding Teleserye for 'Maria Clara at Ibarra.'

Atom Araullo accepted the Most Outstanding Male Documentarist award for his shows 'The Atom Araullo Specials' and 'I-Witness.'

Susan Enriquez, Arnold Clavio, and Mariz Umali were all smiles when they accepted the Most Outstanding Morning Show award for 'Unang Hirit.'

Doc Nielsen accepted the Most Outstanding Educational Show recognition for this show 'Born to be Wild.'

The series also received the Green Zeal Award of Excellence in Bridging Boundaries through Culture and Arts. According to the award-giving body, the Green Zeal Award is given only to outstanding organizations, companies, or groups that are able to promote certain advocacies effectively.


Meanwhile, the comedy show Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy ang Kuwento won the Most Outstanding Comedy Show award against the comedy sketch show Bubble Gang and the comedy series Daddy's Gurl.

Michael V., creative director of Bubble Gang and creator of Pepito Manaloto, both of which he stars in, won the Most Outstanding Comedian award for both of his shows.


Additionally, Family Feud won the Most Outstanding Entertainment Show, while Born to be Wild won the Most Outstanding Educational Show.


The awarding ceremony was held on January 30 at the De La Salle Araneta University.
