Shaira Diaz and David Licauco's secret to having chemistry: 'matagal na kami magkatrabaho'
Stars of the romantic movie Without You Shaira Diaz and David Licauco said that it's because they have been working together for a long time already and are comfortable with each other that they have great on-screen chemistry.
During the press launch of their movie on February 8, David revealed that Shaira is his first ever on-screen partner way back in 2017 and has worked together with the actress since then.
“Siyempre sa tagal ng six or five years na nagkakatrabaho kami, although we never had a teleserye, pero meron kaming mga short guestings. I think yung chemistry, na-build doon,” he said.
The “Pambansang Ginoo” added, “I mean si Shaira, she's such a good actress so siyempre 'pag nakikipagtrabaho ka sa magaling na actress e dumadali din yubg trabaho mo so correlated doon 'yung chemistry.”
According to Shaira, they first started working together in an episode of Magpakailanman, which was also the first work they did after they joined GMA Network.
“So siguro, since then, naging komportable na talaga kami sa isa't isa. Parang kahit hindi kami nagkakasama sa isang series, parang, 'yun nga, 'yung nabanggit niya na mga guesting-guesting kanina, parang mas nakikilala namin 'yung isa't isa,” she added.
Aside from guestings, Shaira and David also starred in the 2019 romance movie Because I Love You, which was also their first movie together.
The Kapuso Sweetheart also described David as a good person and “ang gaan niya katrabaho” which may be the reason why their on-screen chemistry works.
“I mean nakitaan kami ng chemistry, and of course, 'andoon na rin 'yung trust so thankful kami sa opportunity na binibigay sa 'min ng network na kahit hindi pa series, kahit mga one-day guesting lang, nasho-showcase namin kung ano 'yung mao-offer namin namin,” she added.
Shaira said that while she and David have not appeared in teleseryes, “Ito sa movie na ito, I think dito yung pinakamakikita nila 'yung parang nag-level up na tandem naming dalawa.”
