Cassy Legaspi challenged by her role in 'Ako si Ninoy'

Sparkle star Cassy Legaspi admitted that playing her role in her first movie, Ako Si Ninoy, was challenging after she got used to acting in commercials and light drama in various series.

During a media conference prepared for several Sparkle artists on February 20, Cassy revealed that her first movie is not only heavy drama but also a musical, making it all the more challenging for her.

“There are many firsts in this movie for me. And although, yes, it was challenging, I also had fun because I know na as an actor, you always have to level up,” she said.

She added, “So, instead of sticking to doing the usual acting ko na cutesy-cutesy, medyo naging seryoso na 'ko sa film na 'to.”

Cassy hopes that the viewers will appreciate her portrayal in the movie.

Cassy and her twin, Mavy Legaspi, recently appeared on the hit medical series Abot Kamay na Pangarap, which starred their mom, Carmina Villaroel. Both young actors were praised by the viewers of GMA Afternoon Prime series for their acting skills.

Aside from this, Cassy also played a dramatic role in an episode of #MPK (Magpakailanman), where she played the role of a daughter that was sold away to pay for the medicine her dad needs.

hen asked if Cassy has found what she wants to do after trying out different genres on TV, she answered, “Well surprisingly, nung una po kasi I just wanted to do rom-com, 'tapos action. 'Tapos, ngayon na when I slowly tapped into drama, na-realize ko na I look for it all the time na, 'Sana yung next project ko, drama,' 'Sana mas mabigat.'”

She then added her realization that her mom did the same and is currently in a dramatic role.

“I find it cool na we're kind of on the same road,” she added.
