Sparkle artists David Licauco and Shaira Diaz admit that they could not watch their daring scenes of their reunion movie titled Without You, which premiered on Wednesday February 15.
“Parehas kaming naka-takip ang mata. Kasi hindi ako sanay, nahihiya ako,” Shaira said during the media conference for several Sparkle artists on Thursday,February 16.
She continued, “Nahihiya ako sa... Kasi, syempre, nandun yung family ko, yung friends ko, and yung mga boss nasa likod."
She also recalled one of the bosses telling her during the movie, “Hoy, Shaira, ano yun?!”
The actress commented, “Medyo nahiya ako kasi hindi ako sanay na yung ganun nga kasi first mature role ko siya and very challenging siya."
Meanwhile, David covered his eyes and said that's how he watched the movie.
“'Tapos kahapon, kasama ko pa yung mom ko nanood ng block screening,” he added.
The Maria Clara and Ibarra star revealed in a previous interview that his mom was against him doing a daring movie. When asked how she reacted upon seeing it, he answered, “Actually, kasi marami nang kinut na scenes. Siguro kung hindi kinut yung mga scenes na yun, baka hindi na 'ko pinapasok ng bahay.”
He added, “So yung now, actually medyo... hindi naman siya masyadong sexy. I mean, sexy siya, mature siya, pero kung ano yung dapat, yun medyo grabe talaga yun.”
Despite the sexy and daring scenes, Shaira expressed how happy she is for surpassing a phase in her career.
“Parang somehow, siyempre, happy ako na, 'Uy, sa wakas, nalampasan ko na 'tong phase na 'to ng career ko.' 'Tapos, nagawa ko siya with unang-una kong ka-love team talaga, yung partner ko sa GMA, with David pa; and very comfortable ako ka-trabaho, so happy ako,” she said.
For David, “Okay lang naman. Nagawa na namin, tsaka comfy naman ako. Medyo may mga scenes lang dun na naka-maiksi yung shorts ko, pero ok naman.”
Meanwhile, David was overwhelmed and emotional about the love and support of his fans, especially those who organized a block screening.
“Akala ko manonood lang tayo ng pelikula gaya nung sa Because I Love You. It's extra special because nakita ko 'yung love and suporta. Pagkakita nila sa akin, nakita ko na enthusiastic sila. Never ko na-imagine 'yun sa buong buhay ko kaya nakakataba ng puso,” David said about his fans.
