Maricel Soriano signs for a new soap in GMA

February marks another historic event in GMA as its welcomed another big star in the Kapuso Network.
On February 19, 2014, Ms. Maricel Soriano, signed a contract for the upcoming soap opera with a working title “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real”.
Present at the event were GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L.
Gozon, GMA Entertainment TV’s Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable, VP for Drama Ms. Redgie Acuna-Magno, and Ms. Shirley Kuan, Maricel Soriano's manager.
According to the Diamond Star, she is happy that she signed for GMA.
“Noong una ninenerbyos pa ako pero nandoon 'yung excitement, di ba?”
“Siyempre may kabog ka na parang paano ba ang kalakaran? Maninibago ka di ba?” she added.
Maricel signed for a show contract instead of a long-term contract in GMA. She jested, “We will go there. Don't be in a hurry. Let's start light, very, very mild.”
The Diamond Star disclosed how GMA will capture the attention of the viewers. She will be working alongside the Primetime King, Dingdong Dantes, and will play the role of his wife.
Aside from Dingdong, Maricel is also pleased when she found out that she will work with Lovi Poe on the project. “Nakagawa na kami ni Lovi ng movie pero hindi kami nagkatagpo sa pelikula. Excited na ako sa batang 'yan.”
When the press asked for a brief background of her new soap in GMA, she excitedly shared, “Nakakatayo siya [Dingdong’s character] sa sarili niyang paa pero with the help of 'yung wife, parang ganoon. Maganda 'yung kuwento, until one day may dumating sa buhay niya na something na hindi naman niya ito hinahanap. Kasi paano mo hahanapin ang isang bagay na hindi mo naman alam.”
“Tapos noong naramdaman mo 'yun, sabi mo 'Maganda pala, masarap pala,' na kung ita-translate ko ito sa totoong buhay, ito ba 'yung feeling na tayo pag busy tayo sa trabaho natin, tapos biglang nagkaroon tayo ng food. Let's say may sandwich ka, parang pag kinain mo, [ma-realize mo na] masakit pala [ang] ulo mo o gutom pala ako. Hindi ko man lang naramdaman sa sobrang pagka-busy natin,” she added.
To further explain the details of their new soap, she said, “Sa akin kasi parang hindi siya (Dingdong's character) nananalo. Palaging ako 'yung nagsasabi sa kanya kung ano 'yung gagawin niya. Parang dictation lagi. Nung na-meet niya 'yung girl, parang pag sinabi niya sinusunod naman ng girl. Naloloka siya na, puwede pala 'yung ganoon. Na hindi niya na-experience sa akin na na-experience niya sa kabila. He calls the shots parang ganoon.”
