SUGA of the global group BTS celebrated his birthday on March 9 and he marked the day by donating to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
A report by Soompi said the rapper-producer donated 100 million won (around P4.18 million based on current exchange rates) to the non-governmental organization, Save the Children.
The donation is for the emergency relief of the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
“So many children and families have suffered great damage from this earthquake. I send my condolences to the survivors and victims. I hope that this becomes at least a bit of help to children affected by the earthquake and hope this [donation] is used to provide relief goods for children,” SUGA was quoted as saying in the article.
Soompi noted that the organization will use the donation for the purchase of winter blankets, mattresses, school supplies, and other necessities.
SUGA has consistently donated on his birthday throughout the years.
His fellow members, J-hope and Jimin, have also been previously reported to have donated 100 million won each for the aid of the victims of the earthquakes.
Meanwhile, SUGA previously dropped the dates for his upcoming solo tour under his alter ego, Agust D.
