WATCH: Santy Leonardo performs his self-penned song 'Astronaut' on Spotlight Music Sessions

Singer-songwriter Santy Leonardo just dropped a live performance of his self-penned song 'Astronaut' on the all-new online music show Spotlight Music Sessions on Friday, March 17.

Santy is one of the rising artists in the music industry nowadays. He loves to perform alternative, acoustic, and folk songs.

In an exclusive interview with him, Santy shared the bands that shaped his musical taste.

“I used to listen to folk songs when I was a kid. Folk songs, classic songs, and The Beatles, of course. Come the '90s, the band explosion happened then the music taste that I have diverted to alternative OPM and rock so Eraserheads, Rivermaya, After Image, and lahat ng bandang sumikat noong dekada '90,” he explained.

In 2021, Santy became one of the nominees for the Best Acoustic Male Performer for the 12th PMPC Star Awards for Music for his song "Rooftop" which tackles depression.

For Santy, being nominated and recognized by the said award-giving body is one of his biggest achievements as a performer.

“My biggest achievement so far as a singer-songwriter is when I was nominated as Best Acoustic Male Performer for the 12th PMPC Star Awards for Music. Although hindi tayo pinalad, for me, it was still a great thing that happened to me,” he said in an exclusive interview with GMA Network.
