“It really hurts.”

Ito raw ang naramdaman ni Dianne Medina nang ulanin siya ng samu't saring reaksiyon sa pagkakamali niya sa pagbigkas ng salitang “subunit.”

Matatandaan na naging viral ang actress-host noong nakaraang buwan dahil diretso niyang binigkas ang “subunit” sa halip na “sub-unit” sa kanyang news report tungkol sa tatlong miyembro ng K-pop group na TWICE--ang Japanese subunit na MISAMO.

“At first, I got sad, of course, because hindi kami nagkatugma ng writer namin,” sabi ni Dianne. Sandali siyang nakapanayam ng GMANetwork.com pagkatapos ng kanyang hosting stint sa launch ng Pink N Classy clothing brand ng Hey Pretty noong Linggo, March 19.

Patuloy niya, “Usually, inevitable naman 'yan in any show talaga. I just have to, you know, stand up again and move forward. At least, I learned my lessons, that's the more important thing. Wala na dapat sisihan.”

Ayon kay Dianne, isang malaking aral din ito para sa kanya bilang isang news caster.

“At least, it's a lesson learned for me to learn more about the K-pop scene. I apologized to them and I told them that it was an honest mistake and mali yung nasa prompter. Again, it's not a valid reason that I relied on our prompter, but also as a host, I have to research also about the topic before the live. Pero alam n'yo naman kapag live, ang mga salang, pasa ng script… they don't really know what's happening off-cam, sa productions. Kapag live, sa news talaga minsan, minutes before we go live…”

Sa kabila ng pangyayaring ito at pamba-bash na kanyang natanggap, hindi naman nawala ang interest ni Dianne sa pagiging newscaster at TV host.

Aniya, “You know, with all the social media world, the bashing, sometimes it's painful talaga. It really hurts. But at the end of the day, I just thank God. God has a purpose for this, you learn your lesson.”

Bagamat mas madalas na siyang nakikitang host ngayon, nilinaw ni Dianne na gusto pa rin niya ang trabaho bilang artista.

“But I still love acting because that's also one of my passions and I love the entertainment industry. If there's a chance that I can do a teleserye, I would gladly accept it. Pero ngayong nandito tayo sa news… Any work naman is a blessing from the Lord and I'm thankful and beyond thankful for everything.”

Sa ngayon, ine-enjoy lang daw niya ang kung anumang trabaho na dumarating sa kanya, at karamihan sa mga ito ay ang pagho-host.

“Actually, acting and hosting pareho lang. Pero as of now, dito tayo dinadala sa hosting. I also love hosting, it's also my passion, you know, parang hindi ako nagtatrabaho. I love events talaga. Nag-back to normal na tayo, so I'm happy na bumalik na rin ang entertainment and events industry,” pagtatapos ni Dianne.
