BLACKPINK and their reactions to Filo fans' love and support

By Nherz Almo

BLACKPINK was in awe of how their Filipino fans showed their love and support for their group during their two-night “Born Pink World Tour” concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan this weekend.

The internationally famous K-pop group first visited the country in February 2019 for the “BLACKPINK In Your Area World Tour." Several months after, the four-female group returned for a meet-and-greet event sponsored by an e-commerce brand.

It's been about four years since their last visited the country and their Filo fans couldn't help but be all-out in making Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa feel loved in the Philippines.

Here are some moments when Filo Blinks surprised BLACKPINK members:

Stars inside the PH Arena

After their high-energy dance performances of their hit songs “How You Like That” “Pretty Savage” and “Whistle,” BLACKPINK took a short break to formally welcome their fans on the first night of their two sold-out concerts in the Philippines.

Upon seeing the whole venue, Jennie said with amazement, “I did not realize that the seats are so high… it looks like stars up there,” while pointing at the people on the fourth floor of the arena.

On the other hand, Rosé uttered “Wow!” as she, Lisa, and Jisoo also looked at the thousands of screaming fans who were proudly waving their flickering heart-shaped lightsticks called BI-Ping-Bongs.

Goosebumps

Before continuing, Lisa asked Blinks, “Are you ready to have some fun?” and they answered with their loudest screams. She and Rosé did not expect the response of the crowd that they started to get goosebumps.

BLACKPINK then continued with their performances of “Don't Know What To Do” “Lovesick Girls” “Kill This Love” “Crazy Over You,” and “Playing With Fire.”

"Everyone Silent"

Only BLACKPINK can keep the PH Arena crowd silent and this happened twice during the concert.

This first happened on their second break, when Rosé said, “I think this is one of the loudest crowds.” So, she tried if Lisa's “Everyone silent” line from her solo single “Money” would work when she's the one saying it.

On her first attempt, there were still many Blinks screaming, so she tried it again. “Everyone silent,” she said for the second time. She was impressed by how obedient Filo Blinks were. Rosé then said, “Scream!” and the crowd went wild again.

Then, it happened again when Lisa performed “Money” during their solo numbers. On the part leading to “Everyone silent,” Filo Blinks avoided making any noise and continued with their deafening cheers when Lisa sang the line “Listen to my money talk.”

Racing heartbeats

After their second interaction with fans, BLACKPINK performed “Tally,” where Jisoo looked surprised when Filo fans started singing in unison, “I say 'f*ck it' when I feel it.” This was followed by “Pink Venom” from their Born Pink album.

Later on, each member of the group had their moment on stage. Jisoo performed her rendition of Camila Cabello's “Liar.” Jennie shared the stage with a male YG dancer in her solo number “You and Me.” Meanwhile, Rosé showed off her vocal skills in Born Pink song “Hard To Love” and her solo single “On the Ground.” Lastly, Lisa performed “Money” and her first solo single “LALISA.”

After their solo performances, BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa returned on stage together to perform “Shut Down” and “Typa Girl.”

Then, the girls took another short break before the final part of the concert. At this time, the concert was already running for more than an hour, but the Blinks were still tirelessly screaming for their K-pop idols.

As a reaction, Rosé asked Lisa to check on her heartbeat. Likewise, Jisoo asked Jennie to check on hers.

Rosé then told fans, “I must say, you guys are really getting us excited.”

Lisa then looked around the crowd and noticed a couple of fans who brought different lights to the concert, one of which was actually a ring light. The fan who brought this also showed his twerking skill.

Jumping and dancing crowd

It was also during this moment when Jennie expressed her appreciation for Filo Blinks who danced with them during their performances.

She said, “One thing I'm really loving about Manila is that actually seeing people really jump and dance and singing along with us.”

Lisa agreed, “Exactly, guys, thank you so much.

Jennie continued, “We really appreciate it. It makes us very happy, so keep going with whatever you're doing.”

She also asked everyone to greet for her pet dog Kuma, which was celebrating its birthday that night. Likewise, fans willingly sang the “Happy Birthday” song with BLACKPINK members.

BLACKPINK ended their “Born Pink World Tour” concert in the Philippines with their hit songs “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” and “Forever You.”

While they have said their goodbyes to Blinks who attended the first night of their two-day concert, BLACKPINK couldn't help but give in to their requests and delivered lighter performances of "Yeah Yeah Yeah," "Stay,” and "As If It's Your Last" as their encore.

Rosé told fans, "I'm sorry we haven't come back for four years. I'm pretty sure that the Philippines did not forget about us.

Jennie agreed and said, "It has proven that they have not."

BLACKPINK Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa also went around the stage to tell every Blink in the arena, "Salamat po."
