J-Hope announces military enlistment

By Bianca Geli

Jung Ho-seok or J-Hope of BTS has announced his upcoming military enlistment.

His agency BigHit Music released a statement confirming the South Korean dancer and rapper will enlist in the South Korean Army, but without any official event on the day of his entry.

Furthermore, no exact date has been revealed.

BigHit Music also requested fans to refrain from visiting the enlistment site, saying the send-off ceremony is to be attended by military personnel and family only.

"Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts," BigHit Music said.

We ask for your continued love and support for J-Hope until he completes his military service and returns. Our company will also strive to provide the support he needs during this time," they added.

J-Hope is the second BTS member to fulfill his mandatory military service in South Korea.

The group's eldest member Jin enlisted in December 2022. Recently, J-Hope and Jimin visited Jin at his camp. The group also reunited with all seven members for a dinner get-together during Jin's vacation.

BTS is expected to reunite completely in 2025.
