There's a new P-pop boy group in town!
Talent agency SBTown (Show Biz Town), the management behind phenomenal P-pop boy group SB19, officially launched its newest Filipino boy group, PLUUS, in a debut showcase held on March 31 at Power Mac Center Spotlight, Circuit Makati.
After four years of training, the six-member boy group composed of JL, Haro, Yen, Justin, Gab, and Theo were finally able to showcase their hard work and talent with the release of their debut mini album titled PLUUS +.Y.M, which has three tracks--"Amigo," "My Time," and "Cross My Heart."
"Sobrang tagal po naming nag-training and sobrang saya po, may mixed emotions din po sa mga pinagdaanan namin. Ito na po 'yung bunga ng training namin. And sobrang saya po na magkakasama kaming anim na nag-debut," Gab described how he feels that they finally debuted.
JL added, "Sa haba po ng training namin, actually four years po, sobrang hirap lang po talaga para sa amin is the patience. Those four years, hindi po natin masasabi kung maganda po lahat ng nangyayari, siyempre naroon po 'yung hardships. And I think through those hardships iyon po ang naging reason kung bakit kami nandito ngayon, and mas stronger pa po kami sa kung ano po 'yung pinasok namin noong una."
As a newly-debuted group, PLUUS is taking one step at a time to establish their name in the local scene, introducing their own brand of music while also bringing Filipino music with them.
"Right now, since we are a new group, we will be taking one step at a time. We do have big dreams of doing big events and shows," Justin shared.
"We want to explore po, we want to try different genres. Actually, we want to take it step by step na since we are a P-pop group gusto namin after that P-pop unti-unti po makikilala rin as OPM group. That's why we actually release the "Missing You" kasi gusto rin po namin na lahat ng tao--even matatanda, bata--makaka-relate and magugustuhan po nila 'yung music. So, we want to take it step by step po," JL said.
The name of the group is a combination of the words "PLUS" and "US" which means "we want to be an addition to people, and, vice versa, we also want people to be an addition to us," JL explained.
"And the reason po we have to 'UUs' in our group name is because we want to emphasize that you are the center of our everything and it can also mean positivity. We want to spread positivity in our music," he added.
PLUUS trained under SBTalent Camp's South Korean trainer Adie Hong and SBTown's President and CEO Geong Seong Han. The group is also co-managed by Universal Records.
On the same day of their debut showcase, PLUUS released the music videos of their EP's tracks "Amigo," "My Time," and "Cross My Heart."
