BTS's SUGA to release solo album 'D-Day' this April

By Faye Almazan

SUGA of the Korean supergroup BTS is not done with surprises as he is set to drop his first solo album, D-Day, this month, a few days ahead the start of his first solo tour.

The group's record label, BigHit Music, announced on Weverse the news on the upcoming album, which is scheduled for release on April 21, Friday.

According to BigHit, D-Day will mark the “concluding chapter of a trilogy by SUGA's another moniker, Agust D.”

SUGA has released two mixtapes under his alter ego Agust D in the past-- Agust D in 2016 and D-2 in 2020.

The label added that the album focuses on the rapper-producer's personal journey as Agust D, “offering an intimate portrayal of his life as an artist.”

Before the album officially releases, a pre-release track is set to drop on April 7.

“As SUGA embarks on his first official solo activities, we kindly request for your support,” BigHit wrote.

SUGA announced in February that he is embarking on his first solo tour under Agust D, which will kick-off in the United States this month.

Last week, a 35-second mood teaser for his upcoming documentary, SUGA: Road to D-Day, was also published.

SUGA is the fifth BTS member to release his solo project, following J-hope's Jack in the Box, Jin's “The Astronaut,” RM's Indigo, and Jimin's FACE.
