Metro Manila Summer Film Festival


Dingdong Dantes, Nora Aunor, and Janine Gutierrez are set to star in this year's Metro Manila Summer Film Festival.

The Metro Manila Film Festival announced on Monday the complete lineup for its first-ever summer edition.

Descendants of the Sun actor Dingdong Dantes, Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit actress Nora Aunor, and Janine Gutierrez movies are among the Kapuso star who will be part of the official lineup for the said festival.

Primetime King Dingdong will lead the cast of the Philippine adaptation of action-packed Korean movie A Hard Day alongside actor John Arcilla.

On the other hand, Superstar Nora stars in “Isa Pang Bahaghari” with Kapuso star Sanya Lopez and veteran actors Philip Salvador and Michael De Mesa.

Meanwhile, Janine is set to star in the romantic film “Ngayon Kaya” with Paulo Avelino.

The lineup of entries includes eight films that will be shown nationwide from April 11 to 21.

Here are the films to be showcased in the Metro Manila Summer Film Festival:

A Hard Day starring Dingdong Dantes and John Arcilla
Isa Pang Bahaghari starring Nora Aunor, Philip Salvador, and Michael De Mesa
Ngayon Kaya starring Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez
Tagpuan starring Alfred Vargas, Iza Calzado, and Shaina Magdayao
Love The Way You Lie starring Alex Gonzaga, Xian Lim, and Kylie Verzosa
Love or Money starring Coco Martin and Angelica Panganiban
Coming Home starring Jinggoy Estrada and Sylvia Sanchez
The Missing starring Joseph Marco, Ritz Azul, and Miles Ocampo

The Summer MMFF's Parade of the Stars will take place on April 5 in Quezon City, according to Metro Manila Development Authority's statement.

The MMFF started in 1975, and will now have two editions starting this year--one on December 25 and, the other one to be staged in April.
