Two years after the pandemic, Parokya ni Edgar jet sets to another international gig to give entertainment to their fans. The iconic Pinoy rock band is one of the acts from the Philippines who will perform in Expo 2020 Dubai on March 18.
In his social media posts, band frontman Chito Miranda uploaded a photo of him together with the rest of the gang on board a plane bound for Dubai. He described it as “Fieldtrip with Friends."
Just like kids on a trip, Chito feels the same whenever he heads off with the boys for tours and gigs, “Yan exactly yung feeling ko tuwing may biyahe kami ng Parokya. Para kaming gradeschool students na pupunta sa planta ng ice cream at Manila Zoo, tapos si Dindin yung mayaman mong kaklase na masarap katabi kasi palaging madaming snacks.”
For Chito it doesn't feel like two years have passed and because of that, he and the rest of the band would like to make up for lost time through show-stopping performances.
In another post, Chito went nostalgic about being away from his family. Furthermore, he feels isolated being alone in his room as part of standard health protocols.
Hence, he saluted all Overseas Filipino Workers who sacrifice time with their family for the promise of a better life.
He said, “I could only imagine kung gaano kahirap para sa isang tatay tulad ko (or nanay) na kelangan mag-work at mag-stay ng matagal sa ibang bansa na malayo sa pamilya.”
He added, “Grabe yung sakripisyo ninyo.”
