Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was hospitalized after authorities responded to his Florida home following an alarming TikTok livestream.
According to People, citing the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO), deputies were dispatched to Hilton's residence after receiving multiple calls from social media users expressing concern over the livestream.
Authorities said Hilton was found alone at the home. With the assistance of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, he was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
In an earlier statement to Newsweek, the MDSO said deputies initially chose to "tactically disengage" while monitoring the situation, explaining that officers are trained to prioritize de-escalation in incidents involving individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
The sheriff's office said these response strategies help create opportunities for communication and reduce the risk of harm when there is no immediate threat to others.
The livestream has since been removed from TikTok, while Hilton's account on the platform has reportedly been suspended.
