Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is taking some time off from marathon training to attend the wedding of her best friend.

In a post on her Instagram account, Pia posted three photos of her at the wedding of former Binibining Pilipinas International Bianca Guidotti. In the caption, Pia praised Bianca, describing her as “the one with the biggest personality, a golden heart, the most contagious laugh & unapologetically herself.”

The wedding is definitely a welcome respite for Pia, who has admitted in a previous Instagram post the ups and downs of her fitness and marathon journey.

Pia, who is now undertaking the last stretch of her training, has talked about the moments during her training where she has been demotivated because of missing important runs. However, she also shared that the marathon is “not a pageant” and that she is only competing against herself.

She has also previously talked about the jitters she felt about the marathon last month, as well as her own concerns about being able to participate after getting sick twice and getting COVID-19.

Pia first announced that she would be joining the New York marathon last July, sharing that has gotten “serious about running.”

Aside from marathon preparations, Pia has also become an entrepreneur running Pia's Kitchen. Pia's Kitchen is part of CloudEats, a cloud kitchen that handles several brands that sell food exclusively online. This is Pia's second food business, following Bestea, which she established with friends Pauleen Luna and Niña Almoro.

The concept of Pia's Kitchen, which has a menu that changes every three months, was partly inspired by her own travels with boyfriend and Beautiful Destination CEO Jeremy Jauncey.
