Pia Wurtzbach will be the first Miss Universe to appear on the glitzy Arab Fashion Week.
What's more, the Miss Universe 2015 winner will be opening this year's festivity taking place from March 24 to 28.
Pia on Tuesday, March 23, shared a teaser of the video that will be played to signal the beginning of the event that will feature 25 designers from across the Middle East, America, Europe, and Asia.
One of the participating designers is Dubai-based Filipino designer Furne One who owns Amato Couture.
Furne One has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Jessie J, Lady Gaga, and Béyonce.
Pia--who was named Woman of the Year by a Dubai travel magazine in December last year--will showcase the latest Amato collection for Arab Fashion Week 2021.
Furne One also shared Pia's video on Instagram, showing the beauty queen in the desert and clad in signature Amato avant-garde outfits.
“The 5-minute fashion film titled 'Inner Sanctum' which means a very private and holy place is a sartorial homage of AMATO's quest to life. The film is all about a woman's journey to life; distracted by her inner good and evil but eventually finding her own strength and confronting her own fears to face the uncertain world,” the designer posted on Instagram.
This year's installment of Arab Fashion Week will be done virtually as social events remain restricted in the Middle East due to threats of COVID-19.
The theme for this year is “Dream big, travel beyond” and it aims to encourage budding and established designers to widen their reach through digital technologies.
The five-day event will be streamed exclusively on Facebook and on Instagram at @arabfashionweek.
