A visit to Batangas is just not complete without trying this Filipino dish. That's why many have been craving for it ever since the quarantine period began. Good thing there's now a manufacturer of Sinaing na Tulingan.
So, if you're curious about the process of cooking and bottling the Batangeño delicacy, or perhaps you want to start a similar business, then read on and find out the basics of putting up a bottled sinaing na tulingan business.
In the Kapuso morning show, Unang Hirit, TV host Love Añover features local businesses in their segment 'Kitang-kita ang kita sa…' and they recently featured the bottled sinaing na tulingan business of Mr. Joco Bansao.
According to Mr. Bansao, all you need to start your own Sinaing na Tulingan business is 1,500 pesos, from which you can produce 12 bottles and sell them for 180 pesos each and potentially earn 800 pesos.
Moreover, he said that they are able to produce around 1,000 bottles in a single day.
He then enumerated the steps in cooking and of bottling Sinaing na Tulingan:
1. Washing the tulingan eight times
2. Brining or soaking the fish in water and ice for 30 minutes then rinsing afterwards
3. Filling or putting the fish and other ingredients in the bottle, such as kalamias, cane vinegar, sugar, turmeric, salt, peppercorn, garlic, onions, herbs and spices
4. Cooking the bottled tulingan in a pressure cooker for 90 minutes
5. Cleaning the bottles then putting the labels in them.
