Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo is still relatively a newbie when it comes to acting but she's fortunate to have been given supporting roles since she started in 2021.

From her debut in Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho's "Gabi ng Lagim" Halloween Special and her supporting role in Agimat ng Agila, Rabiya will soon be part of a primetime crime-thriller series titled Royal Blood.

The Tiktoclock host admits that she still has a lot to learn about acting.

In an interview with GMA Regional TV morning show BizTalk, Rabiya was what she loves most about acting. She answered, “With acting kasi, yung pinakamagandang part niya is you can be somebody that you're not. It's the art of portraying a role na malayo kung sino ka and being able to live with it.”

She also mentioned that she's willing to learn more about this job.

“Isa siyang challenge na I'm willing to take kasi there's so much growth, excitement, and yun yung kailangan ko ngayon, e,” she said.

Rabiya added, “Kung wala na yung pressure na 'I have to learn something,' I guess hindi ako ma-e-excite to look forward to have acting jobs, especially na may padating na teleserye.”

In a previous interview, Rabiya said that one of the things she did to improve her acting skills was to join acting workshops.

“Parang na-enjoy ko po ang acting pero parang hirap pa rin po talaga ako sa drama. Siyempre, bilang aktres, hindi ko naman pwedeng sabihin na, 'Direk, pasigawin n'yo lang po ako, yun lang po ang kaya ko,” she said.

Meanwhile, Rabiya looks forward to working with her fellow Kapuso stars in Royal Blood.

“Nag a-acting workshop po talaga ako almost every week para po mabigay ko talaga 'yung lahat-lahat para sa role na 'to,” she said.
