During her guest appearance on Mars Pa More, the reigning queen and Licensed Physical Therapist said that in order to relieve pain due to tight muscles in the neck and shoulders, one must do stretches.
Stretching will loosen up tight muscles and improve your body's blood circulation, giving you instant relief.
So, she shared some stretches that you can do whenever you experience muscle pain in the neck and shoulders.
Here's a breakdown of Rabiya Mateo's pain-relieving stretches.
1. Cervical flexion
Put your hands behind your head and tilt your head down. Hold this position for seven seconds and repeat 10 times.
2. Cervical extension
Put your hands on top of your head and tilt your head up. Hold position for 10 seconds and repeat 10 times.
3. Cervical rotation
Rotate head to one side and hold for seven seconds. Do the same on the other side.
4. Pectoral stretch
Put your hands behind your head and then push yourself forward. Hold it for seven seconds.
5. Shoulder cross-arm stretch
Extend your left arm across your chest and press your right hand gently on the left elbow. Hold for seven seconds. Do the same on the other side and repeat 10 times.
6. Arm rotation
End your stretching session by rotating your arms backwards, making big circles.
