Centerstage host Alden Richards shared that as part of GMA-7's newest singing competition, they are searching for the next-generation idols who are set to follow the footsteps of some of the Kapuso's musical pride.
At the Centerstage's media conference held recently, the Asia's Multimedia star revealed they are looking for kids who can carry themselves as performers.
“Since we started po with the kids, we wanted to give a different take on how we can choose talented kids when it comes to singing, in terms of how we programmed the whole contest.
“It's a very different interactive way of determining who will be the winner but basically, we're looking for stars [who] can carry themselves as performers,” Alden said.
He also shared that the kid who will win the competition might be the new successor to the current Kapuso vocal powerhouses.
“Siyempre ang dami nang performers dito sa GMA. So we want to discover new talents who can be successors to the current ones,” he added.
Meanwhile, Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, West End singer Aicelle Santos, and renowned musical director Mel Villena are set to screen the talented kids joining Centerstage.
With Alden and Betong Sumaya as hosts, who will race to the top and claim the most coveted spot of all - the Centerstage?
Under the helm of Director Louie Ignacio, follow the journey of these young contestants in Centerstage, starting February 16, every Sunday at 7:40 p.m., on GMA.
