Jewel Mische goes back to acting in 'Dear Friend', and promises her fans that there are more projects for her in the future.
Sa ikatlong yugto ng Dear Friend presents 'Special', tuwang-tuwa si Jewel Mische at balik-trabaho na naman siya. Though she admits to being busy, she does plan ultimately to be back to what she loves to do. Text and photos by Erick Mataverde. Nang bisitahin ng iGMA si Jewel sa set ng Dear Friend sa Bulacan, nadatnan namin si Jewel na nagpapahinga in-between scenes. At nang maibanggit namin na it has been a while since we have watched her act, sumang-ayon naman ang dalaga: "Nauna po ‘yung [guesting sa] LaLola, and then ‘yung last Dear Friend ko last summer, and ngayon Dear Friend ulit." Busying-busy kasi siya sa studies niya ngayon, though when the offer to do another Dear Friend came along she readily accepted. "Okay na po ‘yung schedule ko, only three days taping [dito] kasi finals na po. Ang dami kong pinagaaralan kasi din po may college ako at aviation school," paliwanag ni Jewel. "Right now I don't fly solo kasi hindi pa po ako gumagraduate. But soon." When we asked her about her co-stars in the show inamin nya na very happy din siya sa mga co-star niya dito, in particular si JC De Vera at Ynna Asistio. "Si JC, nakasama ko po sa LaLola noon, pero hindi ko siya nakaeksena doon. Totally different this time, kasi dito ‘yung love angle, sa amin. Okey siya, ‘yung personality niya, I never thought na ganun, kasi po mabait siya," kuwento ni Jewel. "Kasi po sa LaLola medyo snob siya, pero ngayon he is very nice to me and to Ynna." Another reason din kung bakit in-accept ni Jewel ang role niya dito sa Dear Friend was the opportunity to work again with Direk Mark Reyes. "I got really excited nung nalaman ko na si Direk Mark. Kasi na-miss ko siya eh, after Kamandag, ngayon lang kami ulit nag-work," salaysay ni Jewel. For Direk Mark naman, Jewel was a pleasant revelation sa kanya. "Jewel surprises me now, ang galing galing na umarte," sabi niya. "It was one scene after the other. A major improvement, I am so happy [with her]." Sa mga fans naman ng ating StarStruck: Then Next Level Ultimate Sweetheart huwag kayo mangamba, because she promises that there are other projects in-store for her in the near future. "Meron, sinabi sa akin, we discussed some things, movie naman po kasi, 'di ba I signed an eight picture contract with Regal? Timing lang ‘yun kasi isa pa lang po ang nagawa ko," binalita ni Jewel. "For me its time kasi. You don't do movies for the sake of being part of the movie or [just] for doing it. My last movie was Shake, Rattle and Roll IX. Okey lang naman, at least I know I have a project in the near future." Aminado naman si Jewel na, coupled with her studies, talagang kailangan ng extra attention sa schedule niya. "Pero ngayon naman if they are going to give me work, it’s a matter of time management lang din," kinatuwiran niya.
