
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially separating, after tying the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022.
According to various reports, Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on August 20 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, two years after their second wedding in Georgia on August 20, 2022.
TMZ was first to report the news, with sources telling entertainment website the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement.
"She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken," a source told PEOPLE magazine. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”
Rumors of their split started circulating around May 2024 after not being photographed together in more than a month.
In May 2024, Lopez also canceled her "THIS IS ME…LIVE" summer tour to spend time with her family, the ex-couple also put their Beverly Hills home on the market.
Jennifer and Ben first met in 1998 at the 70th Academy Awards and the premiere of the actor's sci-fi action film Armageddon. In 2002, they worked together in the film Gigli, and eventually became a couple, with fans coining the term "Bennifer" as Jennifer and Ben's couple nickname.
The couple got engaged in 2002, but called off their wedding and eventually broke up in 2004. J.Lo and Ben rekindled their romance in 2021 and got married in 2022.
Jennifer has two sons, twins Emme and Max, with musician ex-husband Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Ben was formerly married to actress Jennifer Garner and the two have three children--Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
Jennifer will be next seen in Unstoppable and Kiss of the Spider Woman, both produced by Ben, whereas Ben is set to star in The Accountant 2.
