Andrea Torres gets emotional over Derek Ramsay's birthday surprise for her

Kapuso star Andrea Torres celebrated her 30th birthday on Monday, May 4, while under quarantine.

The actress had a simple yet memorable celebration at home with her parents and virtually with her boyfriend Derek Ramsay and friends.

Despite being apart because of the implemented enhanced community quarantine, Kapuso actor Derek Ramsay made sure that Andrea will have an unforgettable and special day.

Hours before the actress turned 30, the Kapuso hunk uploaded a video compilation of greetings from their family and closest friends on Instagram.

“I know tomorrow is your actual birthday but I want to be the first to greet you.

It saddens me that I can't be there with you to celebrate but after the quarantine we will definitely do something, ok. Love you,” Derek said.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with 24 Oras, Andrea shared that she got emotional over the surprise birthday gift.

“Grabe 'yung iyak ko, ugly crying. As in buhos talaga.

"Siguro kasi bukod du'n sa na-touch ako du'n sa message, 'yung makita ko lang 'yung mommy niya, daddy niya, pamangkin niya.

“'Tapos nandu'n pa 'yung friends naming. Parang nakakaano lang…nakakasenti. Tsaka 'di ko rin talaga in-expect 'yun from him,” she said.

She also emphasized that what really matters are the little things others do for you.

“It's really the little things, e. So panahon ngayon, bawat maliit na bagay maa-appreciate mo talaga,” she added.

The birthday girl celebrated her milestone by proving that optimism even in this time of COVID-19 pandemic brings joy to life.

“This is not how I imagined my birthday would be. Never had so many surprises happen to me in one day!

"Thank you for all your efforts to make me feel happy and special.

“I am reminded of the many blessings already present in my life right now. I am deeply moved. Gifted with the right mindset as I enter another chapter in my life and I wish the same for you. Stay safe, grateful and positively hopeful,” she noted.
