Singer Morissette Amon is officially engaged to her boyfriend Dave Lamar!

On the eve of December 22, the singer announced the good news to her more than 900K followers that she and Dave will soon tie the knot.

On Instagram, Morissette revealed that they have already been engaged for the “past couple of months” as she flaunted her engagement ring.

“After finally letting our families and most of our closest friends know in the past couple of months since this happened, we're finally ready to share it to the world… WE'RE ENGAGED,” she wrote in the caption.

According to reports, Morissette's father, Amay Amon, expressed his disapproval over his daughter's relationship with Dave in mid-2019.

She added, “Nine years since we've met, best friends for seven, our second round at love, each other's firsts… and now, last and only.

“Thank you, Lord, for all that you're blessing us with, keeping us strong, and allowing us to live our dreams together. Our love story is great because You orchestrated it, and we're so excited for this next chapter of our lives.

“Also, what an absolutely breathtaking sunset you shared with us when DJ decided to propose.”

According to Morissette, she always knew that God would give her His blessing when it came to her relationship with Dave.

“Even before I knew, God already went ahead and has blessed us in ways I couldn't have imagined. Our journey wasn't at all perfect, but it's beautiful and ultimately, ours.”

Now addressing her fiancé, she said, “Thank you for staying. You didn't just fight for me but also believed in all that I can do, even when I didn't.

“I am looking forward to everything we will learn and accomplish together. I mean, we've already been at it, and this is only the beginning.

“As you used to say, 'endless possibilities!' and as your song goes, this ain't 'Something Only We Know' anymore. It's definitely a yes to a forever with you.”

For his part, Dave posted a cute video montage of him and his soon-to-be-wife that captures how they've evolved as a couple over the years.

He said, “Nothing was ever planned. We didn't really have that luxury. We were both chasing our dreams in life while at the same time sharing stories and experiences with each other from afar.”

Dave confessed, “[I] Always had this silent crush on you, but it was really just a sincere admiration.

“As time went on and our friendship grew deeper I came to this realization that at some point if I ever got into a relationship with someone else, I wouldn't be able to continue having the same kind of friendship with you. I would eventually have to give up the kind of friendship we had..... but I didn't want to.

“I took the chance and told you how I felt, and, to my surprise, you felt the same way!”

He continued, “Thank you for saying yes to a lifetime of adventures with me. I adore you with all my heart, and I am so blessed and excited that I get to experience the rest of this life with you by my side.

“I know everyone says this, but you have truly been my best friend and my rock, and I am so so excited that I will get to marry my best friend. Morissette, Thank you for being mine! Gihigugma tika.”

Before becoming an official couple, Morissette and Dave were once contestants in a popular singing competition in the Philippines.

Like Morissette and Dave, a few other celebrities announced their engagement during the quarantine, including Mark Herras and Nicole Donesa, Rocco Nacino and Melissa Gohing, and Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola.
