David Licauco reveals he has been rejected by a girl before

By Kristian Eric Javier

Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco may be a heartthrob with all his good looks and charm but he is not immune to rejection.

On the latest episode of the 'Updated with Nelson Canlas' podcast, the Maria Clara at Ibarra star revealed that he's been rejected by a girl “a couple of times” and admitted that the heartbreak was harder than not being accepted for a job or for a role.

“Ang pinakamahirap para sa akin yong heartbreak e. Kasi meron kang sense of attachment doon sa taong nakarelasyon mo. So it's really hard,” he said.

He added, however, that he only gives up on the girl when “sagad na sagad na.”

“Parang I don't have regrets later on, so 'yon talagang mina-maximize ko an, 'Sige, ipaglaban natin 'to, let's fight for this, let's fight for this' until you reach a certain point na parang in one snap parang ah okay...parang hindi nga talaga,” he added.

In a separate interview with the King of Talk Boy Abunda, David revealed that he had an actress ex-girlfriend, that they broke up the first time because of a third party. He admitted that they did get back together, but decided to break up in the end.

“Nagkabalikan kami pero nag-decide kami na maghiwalay na,” he clarified.

What is David's tipping point?

For David, it would be when the relationship becomes toxic for both parties.

“Ipaglalaban mo nang ipaglalaban tapos away kayo ng away nang away tapos aabot ka doon sa parang tipping point na toxic na talaga,” he said.

But even though the relationship can turn toxic to the point that a person would want to break up, for David, there are things that one should consider before they do so.

“Ang nasa isip mo', is like worth it pa ba to? Worth it ba to ipaglaban? Or baka mas okay na break kami? Tapos pag nag-break naman kayo ang iisipin mo naman parang shocks ang sakit naman kunyare nakita ko na siya may kasamang iba,” he said.

However, the actor said that what's important is to think about yourself and your happiness “cause at the end of the day sarili mo pa rin 'yong pinaka importante.”
