The flagship comedy program of GMA Network, Pepito Manaloto is going big on the last Saturday of January with their special celebrity guest, none other than newbie Kapuso, Richard Yap.
The Chinoy actor will be joining Jessa Zaragoza and Jen Rosendahl on Pepito Manaloto this coming January 30.
During his contract signing last December 2020, Richard had expressed his desire to work with the multi-awarded comedian and content creator, MIchael V.
Unfortunately, he will have to wait a bit longer to have a scene with Direk Bitoy.
In an interview with 24 Oras, Richard told Nelson Canlas, “Sa taping ng ''Pepito Manaloto,' hindi kami magka-eksena. So sayang lang hindi kami nagkita, pero hopefully I would be able to guest in his other shows next time na mag-sama kami sa isang show, sa isang eksena rin.”
The audience will also be seeing a different side of Richard on Pepito Manaloto, far from his roles in his past drama projects.
Richard said, “Some people who don't know about me. Medyo kenkoy naman ako in real life [smiles].
“Hindi ako ganun ka seryoso, so for me it was really fun doing it and I was… well surprisingly at ease doing those scenes sa mga comedy.
“Sometimes, it's so hard to be doing drama all the time.”
Aside from Michael V., Richard Yap had also expressed his interest in working with the biggest female celebrities under the Kapuso Network.
"Marami actually that I look up to like Heart Evangelista, Marian Rivera, Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos, Solenn Heussaff and... ang dami actually, e. Pero top of mind 'yun muna. I've worked with Jean Garcia before and we had a great time doing a movie together,”
Richard Yap also surprised everybody during his guesting on Mars Pa More after showcasing his nunchucks skills.
The bankable TV and movie star is hoping that he can show off his martial arts skills in an action project in the future, too.
“When I was younger 'yung mga uso na films that time were mga Kung Fu movies… well my brother and I were martial arts aficionados, so doon kami na-inspire.” said Richard.
“And we tried a lot things nag-taekwondo ako, nag-aikido ako, nag-karate, and then nag-Chinese kung fu also.”
Aside from Richard Yap, who are the other Kapamilya talents who chose to switch networks and become a Kapuso?
