Rihanna is set to release a new song for the much awaited 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' movie.

"Umbrella" singer Rihanna is about to drop her latest single--her first solo single in six years--after "Love on the Brain" in 2016. What makes this single extra special is it's for the Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

On October 27, Rihanna briefly teased the song titled "Lift Me Up" with a 15-second melodic hum on Twitter. While there are no details yet about the song, the release date has been announced. The song will drop on October 28, ahead of movie's release on November 11.

In a Variety report, the song is said to be a tribute to the life and legacy of late actor and Black Panther lead Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick passed away in August 2020 from colon cancer and the release of the movie's sequel had to be pushed back as they needed to change the premise after refusing to recast Chadwick.

According to Tems, Rihanna's co-writer of the song, he wanted to write something that feels like a warm embrace after hearing what direction the film will take from director Ryan Coogler.

The new single was announced after it was confirmed that the singer will performing in the Super Bowl halftime show set in February 2023. The hit singer has since stopped performing in 2020.

Rihanna went on hiatus from music to focus on her other businesses, such as her fashion and makeup lines.

She and boyfriend A$AP Rocky also announced back in February that they were expecting their first child and in May, welcomed their son.

The announcement of the song also came after Marvel Studios released the trailer for Ant-man and The Wasp: Quantumania, the movie set to be released after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
