Rovelyn Baterbonia continues to mourn the loss of her son, Ateneo player Rene Baterbonia.
In an interview with GMA News reporter JP Soriano, the grieving mother shared Rene's promise to her before he left their hometown in Agusan del Sur to pursue his dream of studying at Ateneo.
Rovelyn said that Rene assured her that he would help their family with his allowance.
Kasi, lahat daw provided na," she shared.
With Rene's touching promise that everything would be provided by June, Rovelyn became even more emotional as she recalled his words.
On June 8, tragic news struck Baterbonia's family as Rene and his teammate Divine Adili lost their lives in a drowning accident during the Blue Eagles' team-building activity in Aurora.
Recently, Rene's remains were brought home to his hometown in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur, and will be open for public viewing starting June 16.
