
Actress-comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto announced in an Instagram post that she and her daughter, Athena, are returning to the United States, specifically to San Francisco, California, to celebrate her upcoming birthday on May 28.
In her post, Rufa Mae shared a throwback photo of her family celebrating her birthday two years ago in Hawaii.
Accompanying the photo was a caption where she expressed her experience and the heavy grief she felt throughout the year-long mourning period following the passing of her husband, Trevor Magallanes, due to natural causes in July 2025.
The actress-comedienne added that she deeply misses her family and their tradition of celebrating important occasions together, such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, and her own birthday.
“My birthday in Hawaii 2 years ago.. missing our family. We usually celebrate mother's day, my Mom's death Anniversary [on] May 26, my birthday [on] May 28 and father's day when we travel!” Rufa Mae wrote in the caption.
She also expressed and recalled how joyful that year was when her family was completely whole. She added that as she and her daughter, Athena, return to their home in America, they will be carrying with them the memories of their late patriarch.
“Ok ang lahat, pinakamasaya na taon magkasama … Now, me and Athena will go back to our home in San Francisco without you (physically) … after everything!” she said.
“You will be in my heart forevermore! Go go go!” she continued.
Embracing both her grief and her trademark wit, Rufa Mae marked a poignant milestone in her healing journey.
“First birthday ko na widow .. babang luksa. Luks like we made it! Anak! Naks!” Rufa Mae expressed.
Rufa Mae also recently marked her anniversary with her late husband, Trevor Magallanes, looking back on their journey by posting a series of nostalgic photos with her daughter, Athena, alongside a heartfelt message dedicated to him.
In the Instagram tribute, Rufa Mae shared a gallery of photos featuring herself and Athena that chronicled her journey from childbirth to motherhood.
In her caption, she fondly reminisced about her late husband, Trevor, while expressing her deep gratitude to him for the gift of their daughter.
