'Lubos na pasasalamat sa lahat ng naniwala,' Ruru Madrid said.
Ruru Madrid recently marked a new career milestone after clinching the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) "Gabi ng Parangal."
In an Instagram post, the Green Bones actor expressed his heartfelt gratitude for receiving the award, which he dedicated to the “underdogs” like him.
“Ang parangal na ito ay para sa lahat ng 'Underdog' na katulad ko. Maraming beses man tayong sinusubok, pero ito ang nagsisilbing lakas natin upang lalong pagbutihin ang ating ginagawa--hindi lamang para patunayan ang ating sarili sa mga taong hindi naniniwala, kundi bilang patunay sa ating sarili na karapat-dapat tayo dito,” Ruru said.
Ruru also highlighted how hard work, dedication, and being a good person can help in achieving one's goals.
“Tulad nga ng sinabi ko, basta ikaw ay nagpupursigi, naniniwala sa plano ng Panginoon, at pinipiling maging mabuting tao sa lahat ng pagkakataon… walang imposible. Mararating mo ang Rurok ng Tagumpay,” he mused.
Ruru added, “Mananatiling paa sa lupa, mata sa langit. Sa Ama ang lahat ng kapurihan.”
Ruru concluded his post with a sweet message to Sparkle star and his long-time girlfriend Bianca Umali.
“At sa aking Mahal, salamat sa walang sawang suporta at pagmamahal. Kasama ka sa bawat tagumpay na ito,” Ruru said.
Directed by Zig Dulay, Green Bones is GMA Picture's official entry at this year's MMFF. The movie, starring Ruru and Dennis Trillo, took home several awards at the film festival.
Green Bones was hailed Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography, while Dennis Trillo won Best Actor and Sienna Stevens won Best Child Performer.
