
Director Irene Villamor is back with another inspiring and heartfelt film, Midnight Girls.
The movie features a unique cross-network collaboration, as ABS-CBN stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Jane Oineza, and Loisa Andalio join forces with GMA's Sanya Lopez to headline the upcoming project.
In an Instagram post, Director Irene, who also helmed the box-office hit The Loved One starring Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales, shared a first look at the film featuring the four leads.
The post showcased a photo of the cast in Japan, posing under the serene and iconic cherry blossoms.
“Meet your newest sisterhood this summer, Sanya Lopez, Loisa Andalio, Jane Oineza, and Jodi Sta. Maria in Midnight Girls,” Irene wrote in the caption.
In the caption, Irene also provided a brief teaser regarding the plot's direction and what fans can expect from the story.
“A story of four Filipina entertainers chasing the same dream in Nagoya, Japan,” she shared.
The announcement garnered a positive response from the actresses' followers, who expressed their excitement and anticipation for the upcoming film.
“Wow excited to watch can't wait,” a netizen wrote in the comments.
“Happy Women's Month Blossoms! So excited to watch this movie!” a fan wrote.
“Yass #MidnightGirls can't wait! @sanyalopez with kapamilya star yey,” another one commented.

Direk Irene also recently shared a teaser clip on her Instagram showing the four actresses rehearsing the iconic SexBomb Girls hit "Bakit Papa" with Joy Cancio, the original choreographer of the legendary Filipino girl group.
In the video, Joy expressed how happy she was to be training the four stars for the film.
“It's really my honor to make these ladies. I'm so blessed,” Joy shared.
Jodi also jokingly remarked that she never expected to be dancing in a film, as she thought she had already reached the peak of her career, making this a brand-new experience for her.
“Just when I thought na naabot mo na 'yung pinnacle ng iyong career, meron pa pala,” Jodi jokingly said.
Sanya, meanwhile, couldn't help but admit that being trained by Joy is a true honor for her.
“'Yung maturuan tayo ni Ms. Joy, isang karangalan po talaga,” Sanya expressed.
Loisa also admitted that she looks up to the iconic girl group, which is why she found it easy to learn their dance moves.
“Idol ko po talaga ang SexBomb, kaya familiar na rin po talaga ako,” said Loisa.
Jane also shared that it was like a dream come true when she heard they would be learning one of the SexBomb Girls' most famous hits.
“Saka marinig ko pa lang na 'Bakit, Papa,' okay, game! It's my dream come true!” Jane shared.
The film is set to hit theaters this coming May 2026.
