SB19 and Gloc-9's 'KALAKAL' music video is finally here!

Music icons SB19 and Gloc-9 have just dropped a fresh and exciting music video for their latest collaboration, "KALAKAL."

Along with the powerful track, the video is a visual feast as it blends slick effects and bold themes that exude swag and toughness. It beautifully merges hip-hop with Pinoy culture, featuring graffiti, ukay-ukay clothing racks, traditional rice stands, and the iconic kalakal wagon, which has become a symbol of the single.

SB19 members rock in hip-hop-inspired outfits--a black-and-brown color palette and baggy styles--with silver metal accents. Meanwhile, Gloc-9 makes a strong impression in his signature hip-hop hat and layered-style clothing. His performance on a throne-like chair adds to the fiery and cool vibes, symbolizing his status as a rap icon in today's OPM scene.

Fans of A'TIN are also impressed with the choreography, as SB19 incorporates some impressive dance moves into the video.

As of this writing, "KALAKAL" has already racked up over 200,000 views and 49,000 likes on YouTube in less than 24 hours since its release. It quickly climbed to the top 7 trending music videos on the platform and has been generating a lot of buzz on X (formerly Twitter).

The single "KALAKAL" is a collaborative effort between SB19 and Gloc-9, with all members contributing to the songwriting, crafting the chorus, and creating the hooks.

SB19 noted that Gloc-9's involvement encouraged them to approach the songwriting with a deeper sense of vulnerability and authenticity, aiming to produce a song with powerful emotional resonance. The collaboration was likely set in motion after SB19 reached out to Gloc-9 following their impressive performance at the PAGTATAG! Finale concert a few months ago.

In addition, SB19 has a special treat for their international fans as their documentary film, PAGTATAG!, will have a three-day screening in Hong Kong this September. The screenings will begin on September 18 at Premiere Elements House 11 and continue on September 22 and 29 at various other cinemas.
