Shaira Diaz has successfully undergone laparoscopic appendectomy, a "minimally invasive surgery to remove the appendix through several small incisions, rather than through one large one," according to chp.edu.

On Wednesday, the Kapuso actress made an update through her Instagram.

"Maraming salamat, Panginoon, sa successful operation. I'm now recovering but still in pain so please pray for me. Maraming salamat."

"I underwent a laparoscopic appendectomy. Ang normal appendix daw ay kasing nipis at liit ng eyelid, ang nakuha sakin ay triple o higit pa ng laki niya. Mabuti nalang talaga at hindi pumutok. Grabe yung takot, hirap at sakit na dinanas ko pero Salamat sa Diyos at nakaraos na ako..Salamat din po at ginabayan Ninyo ang buong medical team ko po during the procedure.. salamat po sa pagaalaga niyo sakin doctors and nurses of Perpetual Help Medical Center. Thank you Baba, Daddy and Mama."

She also advised people to take better care of their health. "Important reminder: ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY and see a doctor when something feels off. Wag babalewalain."

Shaira also thanked her fiance Edgar Allan Guzman who took care of her in the hospital.

EA took to Instagram to ask for prayers for Shaira's operation.

Currently, EA plays the role of Atty. Kurt Ignacio in the GMA Afternoon Prime series Lilet Matias, Attorney-At-Law, while Shaira can be seen regularly as a host of GMA's morning show Unang Hirit.

EA and Shaira have been engaged since December 25, 2021. They announced their engagement to the public on February 16, 2024.

The couple plan to tie the knot in 2026.
