In a statement released by Cherie's son, Raphael Eigenmann Rogoff, he revealed that his mother was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October 2021.
Megastar Sharon Cuneta is still in disbelief with the death of her good friend and 'Bituing Walang Ningning' co-star, Cherie Gil.
The family of the multi-awarded TV and movie star revealed to the public that Cherie was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October 2021.
Back in 2014, Cherie's brother Mark Gil (Raphael John Eigenmann in real life), also passed away. He was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2012.
Sharon shared her final moment with her dearest Lavinia (Cherie's character in the 1985 movie Bituing Walang Ningning) on Instagram, when she visited her in New York.
One could see the actress-singer holding Gil's hand and she captioned her photo saying, “I miss you so, so much.”
“Still cannot imagine the coming days, years without you…Too much of this unexpected, unacceptable, inexplicable stabbing pain in my heart…Love you forever and ever and ever and ever,” she added.
