True to her 2025 goal, Mommy Dearest star Shayne Sava is “gigil” to improve herself and her craft.

The Oxford English Dictionary recently added 600 new words and phrases in its March 2025 update, including 11 words along with the word “gigil.” While originally Tagalog, the word is now also used in Philippine English.

The word “gigil” is described as an intense feeling where people have the irresistible urge to tightly clench their hands, grit their teeth, or pinch whomever or whatever it is that the person finds adorable.

During the Kapuso Mall Show in a mall in Manila on March 30, GMANetwork.com asked Shayne what makes her “gigil” in connection to the Afternoon Prime's current campaign.

The young actress answered, “Ako po siguro mas mag-improve pa ako sa craft ko, 'yung mag-explore ako ng iba pang mga like skills ko, ganiyan. Gusto ko pang i-explore pa 'yung sarili ko, kung ano pa ba 'yung mga kaya kong gawin.”

Shayne added that she also wants to travel more and explore the Philippines and other countries more.

In a previous interview with Lhar Santiago for 24 Oras, Shayne shared how focused she is this 2025 and that she will be showing a new version of herself this year.

“Mas improved Shayne, mas bolder, mas lalong gagalingan. Lalo po akong mag-tatake ng risk sa iba't-ibang mga bagay,” Shayne said.

The young actress also promised that she will not be afraid to try new things.

Shayne Sava currently headlines the Afternoon Prime drama series Mommy Dearest, together with Camille Prats and Katrina Halili.

In the same interview, Shayne expressed how happy her new year will be with the start of her new series.

“Masaya po ako kasi isa po kami sa mga ipapalabas ngayong taon and masaya po yung start New Year ko,” Shayne said.
