For the first time, Sheryn Regis will share the stage with Wendy Moten, the original singer of "Come In Out of the Rain," popularized by the Pinoy power belter.
This is the song Sheryn performed in the grand finals of the 2003 TV singing competition Star In A Million where she placed first runner-up to Erik Santos. The Kapamilya singer, dubbed as "Asia's Crystal Voice," recorded the song as her debut single.
Sheryn revealed in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Wednesday, September 18, that she will finally perform "Come In Out of the Rain" together with the American singer in the flesh in the Las Vegas leg of the 2024 North American tour of "Harana" by musical director Troy Laureta.
Last year, Sheryn and Wendy's duet version of the song was released by Star Music.
Ecstatic about Wendy's acknowledgement on Sheryn's hit revival of her song, the 44-year-old Filipino performer shared, "Parang sinabi n'ya na parang napasikat ko daw. She's my queen and unexpectedly magagawa na rin yung collaboration namin physically sa isang concert sa Harana tour.
"Kasama ko na s'ya kakanta ng 'Come In Out of The Rain'. Oh my gosh, it's a dream come true."
Officially titled "Harana: A Troy Laureta East Meets West Live Experience", the show will take place on October 18, 7 p.m. (PDT) at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"Harana" also features Martin Nievera, Ruben Studdard, Morissette, Jessica Sanchez, Pia Toscano, Katrina Velarde, Josefina, Jay R, Dessa, and The Fat City Horns, with support act by 4th Impact.
The 2024 North American tour of "Harana" will also have a show in Los Angeles, Honolulu, and New York City.
