SHINee Key

SHINee's Key made sure that his 2021 solo comeback will be unforgettable.

SHINee's Key left his fans in awe yet again as he goes beyond expectations in the music video of his latest single “BAD LOVE” released on Monday, September 27.

The title track is off of his mini album of the same name, which contains five other songs, namely “Helium,” “Hate that...” (feat. Taeyeon), “Saturday Night,” “Eighteen,” and “Yellow Tape.”

Part of the song goes "Deeper I experience you, you become sweeter and more bitter like poison / Joy and despair are mine / Even if I run away, there is no paradise / Now I know it never finishes / Don't need that kind of love, called love / I'm sick of this bad love."

Shawols all over the world showered Key with kind words and positive feedback on Twitter:

In an interview with Vogue Korea, the K-pop idol shared that “retro” has always been in his heart. “I have been admiring it for a long time and wanted to execute the concept in my own way. I'm fulfilling that in the album 'BAD LOVE.'”

He adds, “I put in a lot of thinking in various aspects. But this time, I thought that I would regret it if I didn't make the album the way that I wanted it to be. Recently, I did a lot of variety shows but I didn't have many chances where I could showcase my musical side. I want to show the public that Key is good with intense and conceptual images and sound.”

Prior to “BAD LOVE,” Key dropped the pre-release single “Hate that…” on August 30, which featured Girls' Generation's Taeyeon.

On September 26, he took online concerts up a notch in his first Beyond Live concert, Groks in the Keyland. The event was a huge success, which showcased Key's versatility as a performer.

Key released his first full solo album Face in November 2018 and the repackaged version I Wanna Be in March 2019. He debuted as a member of SHINee along with Onew, Jonghyun, Minho, and Taemin on May 25, 2008.
